A self-described kid reporter says the secret to a successful school year is being prepared, and that starts with the right supplies.
Dylan Emery, a kid reporter, shared his top back-to-school picks, ranging from classroom essentials to family-friendly ways to unwind after school.
"The secret to success is being prepared. And that means having the right school supplies."
Emery said Crayola Clicks are at the top of his list this year.
"I love markers, but the only problem about them is that if you lose the cap, they get all dried out. Crayola Clicks — it's no problem. All you do is click it, click it again, and you're good to go."
He said the markers come in 3 varieties this year: neon, pastel, and highlighter. Emery also highlighted Crayola Clicks colored pencils, which he compared to a mechanical pencil but with added durability.
"The thing I love about this is that they're durable, they're built to last, and they come with refills. So it's everything that you need for this school season."
For screen-free family time after school, Emery recommended Bicycle playing cards and their new card game lineup.
"I love their new games because they're quick to learn, easy to play, and you don't need to remember a bunch of rules to have fun. You can get right to the fun."
He highlighted 3 games from the collection: Cats in the Corner, which he described as similar to Kings in the Corner but featuring cats; Hogwash, a bluffing game; and Trash, a fast-paced game with quick turns.
Emery said the cards have also helped him pick up a new hobby.
"I become a magician with these cards. They've got learned some magic, so it's great."
